The Government of India has decided to hold election to the Veterinary Council of India to elect eleven members from amongst the registered Veterinary practitioners under clause (g) of sub- section (3) of Section 3 the Indian Veterinary Council Act of 1984.
The official Gazette Notification regarding this will be issued on 13th February, 2014. The election schedule is as under:-

Eligible candidates may file their nominations in the prescribed format along with names of their counting agent . The prescribed format for filing the nominations (Form I) would also be published in the official Gazette Notification on 13th February, 2014 and would subsequently appear on the following day in the leading newspapers.
It can also be accessed from the official website of Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries: www.dahd.nic.in from 13th February. 2014 and also from the office of Registrar of State Veterinary Councils.
Nomination papers should be sent by Registered post with acknowledgment due or delivered in person to the Returning Officer in Room No.235, Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi -110001 on or before 5 P.M. on 20/2/2014.
It may be noted that about 62,000 registered veterinary practitioners will be participating in this election. Shri R.G.Bambal, Deputy Commissioner(AH) in the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries has been appointed as the Returning Officer.
