Dehradun: Chief  Minister Vijay Bahuguna inaugurated map and the web portal of Nanda Devi Raj  Jat Yatra-2012 at Secretariat on Thursday. He said that to make the Yatra  successful, State government would publicize it on national and international  levels.
 Chief  Minister Bahuguna said that to monitor the preparation of Raj Jat Yatra, a Cell  has been set up at Chief Minister Office. He said that prior to the Yatra, a  trial yatra would be conducted to review the arrangements at Yatra route.
 He  said that tourism would be promoted and more tourists attracted in the state  through Raj Jat Yatra. Mr. Bahuguna said that the success of the Yatra would  help Uttarakhand carve its niche in international map of tourism. He said that  to make the event a grand success, Sri Nanda Raj Jat Yatra Development Committee  had been constituted and persons from Nainital, Almora and Bageshwar districts  who are related to the Yatra nominated as its members.  Chief  Minister Bahuguna said that the map and web portal prepared by Uttarakhand  Space Applications Centre with satellite technology would prove useful for the  general public. He said that the portal would provide information to the people  from India  and abroad about Nanda Raj Jat Yatra, its route, halts and geographical  condition. Mr. Bahuguna said that there would be no dearth of fund for the  Yatra. He directed the officers concerned to complete the preparation well in  time.
 Also  present on the occasion were Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Vijay, Science and Technology  Minister Surendra Singh Negi, Tourism Minister Amrita Rawat, MLA Badrinath  Rajendra Singh Bhandari, Director USAC Dr. MM Kimothi, President of Nanda Devi  Raj Jat Committee Dr. Rakesh Kunwar and General Secretary Bhuvan Chandra  Nautiyal.
