Shutting Down of Airport Express Line

The Airport Express line has been temporarily shut down on July 8, 2012 by the operator, viz. M/s Delhi Airport Metro Express Pvt. Ltd (DAMEPL), who have the responsibility for safety in operation of the services and maintenance of the tracks.

The reasons for shutting down of airport metro line are due to highest importance to safety and thorough inspection of the viaduct to identify and rectify defects in civil works by following technically sound procedures
The Govt. has constituted a two member Enquiry Committee on 24.07.2012, comprising Additional Member (Works), Railway Board, Ministry of Railways and Additional Secretary & Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), Ministry of Urban Development. 
The committee has been requested to give its report in 3 months from the date of constitution.
This information was given by the Minister of State for Urban Development Shri Saugata Roy in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha today.
