Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna would be converted into a museum.


Budhani/Dehradun, April 25:
Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna said that the ancestral home of late Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna would be converted into a museum in which all documents and articles related to him would be collected and preserved in it. This museum would work as an inspiration for coming generation.
Chief Minister said this in a program organized in memory of late Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna on the occasion of his 93rd Birth Anniversary at his ancestral village Budhani. Chief Minister also unveiled the statue of late Bahuguna and paid floral tribute at the statue. He instructed the officers to construct road till the main road from the village.
Chief Minister Bahuguna also lent a patient hearing to the problems of the people of Budhani and issued instructions to the officers to provide solution to their problems on the spot. Addressing a meeting held at his ancestral house, Mr. Bahuguna said that his priority was to enhance medical and education facilities in the remote villages so that migration is checked. Looking into the natural beauty of the area, he announced to develop the area as tourist hub so that more employment opportunity generated for the local people. He also advocated encouraging horticulture and fruit farming in hill region. Stating that the power sector was the main resource of revenue generation he rued that the previous BJP Government did nothing in this direction.
Chief Minister Bahuguna recalling his memories of his grandfather and father in village said that he was here as a son of the soil. He said that the political intention of his father was always to serve the people and never to rule them. He said that he would also follow in the footsteps of his father in serving people and the state.
Mr. Bahuguna also announced a Committee with Rudraprayag MLA Dr. Harak Singh Rawat as it's Head for setting up of Museum in the name of late Bahuguna with one of his family members as Committee Member.
MLA Dr. Harak Singh Rawat said that it was fortunate day for all that son of late Bahuguna had visited the village as Chief Minister. He said that following the principles of late Bahuguna Uttarakhand would be developed into a model state. He recalled that late Bahuguna had understood the problems of hill region hence he constituted separate ministry for the development of hill region which later laid foundation of separate state. "Uttarkahand is gift given by him and the Congress Government would develop it as per the dreams of statehood agitationists.
Dr. Rawat also drew attention of the Chief Minister towards Dhikalgaon Pumping Project sanctioned in 2006. Meanwhile, area MLA Ganesh Godiyal too apprised the CM about various problems existing in the area. Also present on the occasion were Pauri Nagarpalika Chairman Rajendra Tamta, Congress leaders Yogendra Jhanduri and Govind Singh Rawat.
